Borrow for a clear purpose

A personal loan creates a repayment obligation. Consider whether the expense is necessary, whether a lower-cost option exists, and whether your income can support every instalment without compromising essential household needs.

02

Read the Key Fact Statement

Compare the annual percentage rate rather than only the advertised monthly rate. Review the net disbursed amount, total interest, processing charges, taxes, penal charges, instalment amount, due dates, tenure, cooling-off period, and grievance contact.

03

Verify the provider

Before accepting an offer, verify the provider identity shown in the offer through official sources and avoid loan links received unexpectedly through social media or messaging apps.

04

Protect your credentials

Never disclose your OTP, UPI PIN, ATM PIN, card CVV, or internet-banking password. A legitimate representative does not need these secrets to assess a loan enquiry.

05

Avoid over-borrowing

Account for existing EMIs, variable expenses, emergencies, and possible income changes. Missing instalments can lead to charges, recovery activity, and adverse credit reporting by the lender.

06

Report pressure or misconduct

Do not tolerate threats, harassment, misleading statements, or demands for unapproved payments. Preserve evidence and use the lender’s and Rupee Wale’s published grievance mechanisms.
